Impact Soundworks make detailed, emotive instruments. I’ve happily bought over two dozen of their libraries which should say everything. They get used every day.

"Impact Soundworks' libraries are truly in a league of their own. I've been a long time user for as long as I can remember and it would take me a whole other producing lifetime to build the depths of these libraries on my own. As a Kontakt enthusiast who owns just about every library out there I can confidently say that Impact Soundworks' libraries stand in the top 1%, and that's saying something! No snake oil here. Just meticulously assembled libraries that are overflowing with creative sound design options and inspiration igniting presets."

"ISW creates amazing, creative, and intuitive virtual instruments! I’ve enjoyed using them for over a decade, and they have found their way into many of my music scores. Their wonderfully realistic world instruments showed up in a recent Nexon video game, Shreddage 3 Stratus on the score for Grid, and Super Audio Boy is a favorite for retro sounds, effects, and fun nostalgia. Highly recommended!"
Traveler Series: Bodhran & Bones, originally created by Red Room Audio, is part of a boutique series of sample libraries featuring traditional world instruments faithfully recorded on location from destinations around the globe.
The Bodhran is an Irish frame drum with an open side so one hand can be placed against the inside of the head to control the pitch and timbre. Bones are an instrument often used in traditional Irish folk music, as well as Bluegrass and zydeco.
To capture the versatility and range of these two traditional percussion instruments, each has been sampled to an incredible level of detail. Six Bodhrans of varying construction and materials are included, all of which have been recorded with pitch and dampening controls, multiple zones, and several implements.
To top it all off, two sets of Bones have been sampled with multiple performers and mic options.
Whether you’re working in bluegrass, Irish folk, or simply need an eclectic percussion library for your next project, Traveler Series: Bodhran and Bones is a virtual instrument that is sure to faithfully capture that iconic Irish sound.
Creating Bodhrans & Bones meant traveling to Dublin, Ireland, to work with Marcin Oracki, owner and drum builder at Mighty Bodhrans. Marcin has been passionately crafting bodhrans, hosting workshops and performing live for two decades. The library was recorded in spirited, coffee-fueled sessions at Herbert Place Studios with producer/engineer James Darkin.

Traveler Series: Bodhrans & Bones – Rekkerd.org
“This isn’t the only frame drum sample library out there, but it is definitely one of the most comprehensive ones. With its pretty, intuitive interface and beautifully recorded instruments, the attention to detail and quality is apparent. The way you can change pitch and dampening of the bodhrans allows for truly realistic performances, and with such ease. The various types of drums and articulations offer a surprisingly wide palette of sounds.”

“If you want a true and authentic sound of traditional instruments, played on location by experienced players, in order to record the very root, heart and history of the sound the Traveler Series by Red Room Audio will feel like a blessing to you. I was actually very surprised by how much I enjoyed the Bodhran because of the power and control it gave me as a composer to control both the pitch and also to dampen the sound. This gave me ideas for making energy-rising rolls, crescendos, fills etc. for transitions.”
