In creating this comprehensive collection of 299 loops, we aimed squarely at a hard rock sound in the style of iconic, high-energy bands like AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, ZZ Top and others. Patrick Windsor, who also recorded Riffage: Metal, delivered full throttle rhythms and intricate licks on a Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom. Separate DI and amp signals were recorded for ultimate flexibility to let you dial in the perfect tone or get a great sound right away.
We’ve given you everything you need to construct a complete guitar part in a matter of minutes: driving riffs and sizzling licks, simple bread-and-butter rhythms, and a variety of phrase endings. Every loop can be played in every key and locks to nearly any tempo without artifacts, giving you maximum adaptability.
The Phrase Browser lets you find what you need fast. Quickly narrow down your choices with filters based on articulation, riff/lick category, style, and tempo. Audition loops right in the browser with a simple mouse click. Use the waveform display in the GUI to quickly identify loops. We’ve also included all loops, both DI and amped, as separate WAV files that you can easily drag and drop into your DAW for total control over the source performances.
Riffage: Hard Rock was recorded with an amped signal for a killer hard rock tone right out of the box, which you can shape quickly to your taste by tweaking the Tone dial on the main page or the balance of the DI and amped signals on the Console page. You can also put together your own tone from a full array of cabinets, pedals, amps, and tones on the Console page, or send the DI signal to an amp sim to fully customize your sound!
Riffage: Hard Rock is designed to make producing professional, authentic sounding hard rock rhythms as effortless as possible. Fit it right into an existing mix or be inspired to write something new. Its amazing performance, realism, tone, and efficiency make it the perfect partner for any hard rock productions.
Patrick Windsor is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed, written, and recorded music in multiple genres for more than two decades. He has performed in the rock groups 48sin and Egostatic and the experimental rock band Tub Ring, performing around the Chicago area and finding track placement in TV shows such as Californication. He created the metal band Internal Empires, which played regionally in the Chicago area and shared the stage with such metal bands as Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, The Bled, and more. After moving to Los Angeles, Patrick began writing and recording with a range of artists. He has worked on music featured on Showtime, Starz, Shudder, and performed on NBC’s The Kelly Clarkson Show with The Boulet Brothers.

These include multiple EQs (digital and analog-style), compressors, spatial FX, modulation FX, amps, distortion pedals, reverbs, and a selection of over 30 custom cabinet IRs recorded just for Shreddage 3! These cabs cover all the most important sounds you would want, with both dynamic & condenser mics in multiple positions plus a ribbon mic for certain models.
Using Console, you can easily save and load FX chains or presets between projects or even different Impact Soundworks products. It also allows you to mix and blend between channels, with custom inserts on each if you’d like.
