Overview

Over-the-top hybrid orchestral brass with huge, super-processed acoustic sounds and 9 enormous (we might even say apocalyptic!) synth layers. An instantly huge “wall of brass” sound that’s perfect for film/TV/game and trailer scoring, or any context where power, not nuance, reigns supreme.

Requires the full, paid version of Kontakt. Will not work in the free Kontakt Player.

Product Info

Super acoustic orchestral brass

Pre-mixed ensemble brass with tuba, trumpets, french horns, and flugelhorn with a rich sound.

9 enormous synth layers

Atomic Saw, Dragon Breath, Android War, Cone Crusher, and more. Aptly-named for their huge, over-the-top processed sound.

Up to 3x acoustic RR

Maintain realism on repeated notes… not that this library is intended to be 100% realistic!

Sustain, marcato, staccato

These articulations are synchronized between the acoustic and synth layers.

It sounds ridiculously huge and epic!

“A big thanks to the team at Impact Soundworks for putting inspiration at my fingertips! Your sample libraries are in heavy use in my Orchestral, Rock and Pop templates, and always visible in my top-tier Cue-specific Kontakt. Layering your Shreddage libraries on top of my live guitar tracks creates so much depth, and I get so much out of so many of your other libraries – too many to name. A+ programming and sonic goodness gang!”

“Impact Soundworks’ libraries are truly in a league of their own. I’ve been a long time user for as long as I can remember and it would take me a whole other producing lifetime to build the depths of these libraries on my own. As a Kontakt enthusiast who owns just about every library out there I can confidently say that Impact Soundworks’ libraries stand in the top 1%, and that’s saying something! No snake oil here. Just meticulously assembled libraries that are overflowing with creative sound design options and inspiration igniting presets.”

About the Library

Great music is all about dynamics, nuance, and subtlety. But sometimes it isn’t! For those times, we created Mega Brass. This over-the-top virtual instrument offers “wall of sound” super-processed orchestral brass that can cut straight through a mix, along with a set of 9 apocalyptic hyper-synths that can be mixed in to create the ultimate hybrid brass sound.

The ridiculously huge sound of Mega Brass is ideal for epic trailer music, but it also works in other styles where restrained, refined and subtle orchestral brass simply doesn’t cut it. For example, huge EDM swells, heavy metal backing tracks, or DNB breakdowns.

You will not find the traditional array of delicate tweaks and adjustments in this library. Instead, we give you easy tools for layering, mixing, and FX, along with three core articulations: sustain, marcato, and staccato. Most importantly, everything is very easy to use so you can herald the end of the world and send chills up your audience’s spine with just a single key press.

Mega Brass – Sample Library Review

“The true potential of the library lies in it’s profound capability to sit in a mix with other brass libraries…The library would certainly fit the likes of a trailer composer over a film composer because of it’s intense, aggressive, and quite intrusive sound. Yet, the library brings something new that is different, but also similar to some of it’s recent competition.”

Mega Brass – The Samplecast

“I found the sound was huge, especially when you start adding additional octaves which are easy to dial-in within the interface itself. Also, I enjoyed using the central hype knob to punish the sound and make it even fatter and more aggressive. The core brass and synth sounds are good, and I can imagine myself using this for hard-hitting trailer pieces.”
