“I’ve been using ISW since 2015, and their instruments have shown up in Into the Breach and Subnautica Below Zero, and in nearly all of my solo albums. Shreddage helped me fill in the gaps around my own guitar performances. Super Audio Cart provided some great raw synth sounds for parts of Below Zero. Impact Soundworks is often the first place I go to when I’m shopping for a new project. Everything they make works and sounds great.”

“I’m a huge fan of the Ventus Winds series. They feature rare instruments deep-sampled to an incredibly high level of detail. It’s so liberating to have such a wide range of articulations & phrases that perfectly capture the nuances and performance style of these instruments… from beautiful to haunting, celebratory to sorrowful. Each is expertly recorded and the sound quality is superb, sitting in the mix with ease. If you want to add authentic world winds to your palette, then look no further.”

“Impact Soundworks creates easy-to-use, great-sounding virtual instruments right out of the box. Highland Harps, Emotional Mallets, and Shreddage 3 are in my daily toolkit.”

About the Library

The legendary Steinway Model L has been a staple of classical pianists for over a century. But every individual piano is as unique as a human voice, and we fell in love with this one the moment we heard it. This particular instrument has been lovingly, expertly maintained over the duration of its life, and we captured every detail with unparalleled precision. The combination of the instrument’s intimate nuance and the presence of the recording hall is unique and, we think, highly inspiring.

Magnolia Studio Grand, like Camellia Concert Grand, began life as an R&D project to test a new recording technique. When we heard the sound of what we had created, though, we felt we needed to put this in your hands as an affordable, beautiful, and truly playable instrument. We love the end result, and we hope you will, too.

About the Technology

To deliver the most consistent performance across all 88 keys, we used a human-supervised machine to press the piano keys at precise speeds, guaranteeing identical velocities at each dynamic level. From there, our exclusive SpectralFusion technology seamlessly blends between velocities for a new level of nuance and control. This allows us to avoid imperfection and mechanical limitations, resulting in a playground ready to be brought to life by your human creativity.

About the Instrument

Originally from 1903, the Steinway Model L shocked professionals around the world with its rich, robust sound and quickly became known as the “living room grand.” Packing the warm, resonant tones of a Steinway into a smaller frame, it quickly became a beloved go-to home piano for concert pianists who needed the responsiveness and power of an artisanal instrument at home.

This classic was discontinued in 2005 and replaced with the Model O. But the Model L’s layered, powerful sound makes it a sought-after instrument even today. Most Model Ls were built in New York, and they are emblematic of Steinway’s “classical New York sound.”

Perfect for concert hall works, jazz sessions, pop, jazz, and more, this Steinway’s rich tone has made it a versatile, cross-genre powerhouse, and now that versatility is yours.

Pearl Concert Grand – Computer Music

“Pearl Concert Grand sounds lovely and plays well, holding its own against competing pianos costing considerably more…There’s enough processing power to design any piano sound you’re likely to need.” (4.5/5)

Pearl Concert Grand – MusicTech Magazine

“The piano is really quite stunning to play […] Even if your ivory-tinkling abilities are more intermediate, the advantages of using a properly recorded grand should be fairly audible in your projects just the same. […] If you’re serious about using great-quality piano sounds in your music, be it scoring, pop, jazz or anything else, this is well worth a look. […] An excellent, crisp and playable virtual piano instrument capable of everything from subtle jazz to pounding rock.”

Pearl Concert Grand – Original Sound Version

“Even taking my high standards for realistic piano samples into account, I have to say that I’m thoroughly impressed by the Pearl Concert Grand. While I’ll always favor recording a real piano whenever possible, Pearl is a superb substitute that can deliver an equally dynamic and powerful performance. Considering how accurate and realistic [it] sounds, I think it is easily the next best thing to a studio recording… I would highly recommend grabbing this software. Pick up a copy and you’ll likely never need to buy another piano sample library.”

Pearl Concert Grand – Simeon Amburgey

“It’s really interesting how different libraries can fit into different roles, and I’m just loving the way that Pearl just really has such a presence, and it kind of cuts through…it can be really bright, and then it can just be really nice and big and intimate and full, which I really, really appreciate about this library.”

Pearl Concert Grand – The Audio Spotlight

“There is a lot of that sound in Pearl that I have been looking for in a piano library. Mainly the fact that it doesn’t sound boomy and doesn’t have the same annoying frequencies constantly bugging me that have been annoying me with some other libraries. This is a very difficult thing to review though as it is a very subjective matter. For me this piano library is a very welcomed addition because it makes my job easier when I don’t have to fool around with the EQ constantly anymore.” (4.4/5)

Pearl Concert Grand – Mark Portmann

“Pearl Concert Grand has been a go-to for me. As a session musician in Los Angeles, I’ve spent years recording on real Yamaha C7s—one of the most frequently used pianos in major studios. Having that same iconic sound instantly available at home allows me to stay in the creative flow and focus entirely on performance. It’s helped me land placements with a range of artists and in film projects.”
