We love analog drone synthesizers. They are enormous, imposing, and uncompromising, with absolutely no subtlety, just raw voltage pumped out as colossal, undulating tidal waves of sound.
How do you bring that sonic concept into the virtual realm without losing its essence? And just how far can you take it? That’s what we set out to answer with this library.
Our Circle Drone of Doom began life as the titular instrument from Look Mum No Computer. We wanted to keep the killer sound and directness of the real analog hardware, but you know how we are — we kept finding more features to add and new ways to improve the workflow. The result is something that functions a lot like a synth, with much more straightforward controls.
The fun and creative design is meant to inspire you to dive in and get your hands dirty, discovering new sounds as you play with it. Every knob and setting sounds good (even if “good” sometimes means “massively, brutally chaotic”).
Start with six oscillators with the warm, rich sound you can only get from a 100% analog signal path. Each oscillator has its own independent tuning, making it easy to get cutting, tightly-tuned leads and basses as well as 3-octave mega-detuned monsters.
Turn the multiply knob for more, more, more (up to 48 voices on a single note) with as much or as little spread and detune as you want. A multimode filter dripping with character comes next, with easy motion you can introduce using just a single knob turn.
Top it off nicely with three flavors of circuit-modeled distortion and saturation (dark, medium, warm), either just a touch or enough to obliterate the signal into sonic madness.
No complicated UI here. We very deliberately added the most impactful controls rather than adding dozens and dozens of knobs and sliders that would just water down and muddy the character and experience of this beast.
Far from a single-use instrument or a straightforward drone, Circle Drone of Doom morphs and shifts to a huge range of sounds within the flavor of its distinctive character.

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is the stage name of multi-disciplinary artist and inventor Sam Battle. LMNC is a touring musician, museum owner and curator, music producer, songwriter, and content creator as well as being the UK’s 2026 entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. Sam’s parallel career as an inventor has earned him widespread critical and public attention. His creations, among them the now-iconic Furby Organ and the Flamethrower Organ, have achieved viral success and received prominent coverage across major media outlets including the BBC, ITV, and NME. “So, what do I think of Argent? Honestly, I wasn’t 100% sold on it at first, but the more I’ve gotten to play with it, I think, the more I’ve sort of warmed up to and now prefer it over Hydra. I think that the DI has a really nice dark tone to it, and you know, I don’t really tune as low as this thing can go, but being able to have a guitar that can play that low if you really want it without having to transpose it and mess up the performance and all that stuff; it’s nice, you know. The guitar doesn’t sound warped or strange playing that low, which is definitely a step above Hydra, where the only way to play it lower was to just down tune it through Kontakt’s natural sample transposition.”
